1 Diamondjoe's Blog One plus two does equal three after all
Posted by Diamondjoe on 2008-07-20 16:34:03.

In step one, we admit we are powerless over whatever is trying to control us. In step two, we believe that a higher power can restore us to sanity. It only makes sense that we now come to step 3: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understand him. For me personally, the first two steps are not extremely difficult, but when it comes to letting someone else take control of my garbage, I tend to want a little control over what's going on in my life. ... 2 Diamondjoe's Blog Step 2: The truth is out there: Can you handle it?
Posted by Diamondjoe on 2008-07-01 18:07:33.

Came to believe that a power greater than our selves can restore us to sanity Two friends were walking along a mountain trail, when one of them accidentally slips and would have fallen to his death, had it not been for a branch which he managed to grab, preventing him from falling any further. His companion looked over the edge, and could see his friend some 40 feet below, and began to shout down to him. "Let go of the branch!!" Hanging on to the branch for such a long period of time... 3 Diamondjoe's Blog Step one: Start from the bottom if you want to get to the top.
Posted by Diamondjoe on 2008-06-29 03:08:26.

If I didn't mention it before, I enjoy playing the horses, and I actually heard that expression used when learning how to read a racing form. It's amazing how many people focus on the the most recent race or two that a horse has run (located on the top), and then always complain why they don't win. When they do win, (which is about a third of the time). They complain that their reward doesn't make up for the time, effort and money invested. This is obviously not a blog about horse racing, but... No comments

4 Diamondjoe's Blog A 12 step guide to drawing closer to God than you may have ever wanted to be: intro
Posted by Diamondjoe on 2008-06-29 01:16:07.

First, the 12 disclaimers: 1. We all have struggles, whether we wish to admit them or not. 2. This is not a blog on "quick fixes". That is what self help books are for. (Actually that is not always a bad thing). 3. Work will be involved. 4. I will try my best to be as clear as possible, but anything that individuals may fail to "grasp fully" can be explained further....... JUST ASK!!!!! 5. These are personal reflections only, and are not to be interpreted otherwise. Use what you wish,... No comments

5 Diamondjoe's Blog A Catholic guide to dealing with addictions and compulsions
Posted by Diamondjoe on 2008-03-25 20:54:02.

Did you know that 95% of all family are dysfunctional? Did you also know that the other 5% are lying? Based on that, is it any wonder why self help books are so popular? Not that self help books are a bad thing, in fact some of them are well intentioned and even very useful in dealing with some issues. However, we as Christians have the best answer of all to all our struggles, and it doesn't even cost 19.95 on sale. First, let me start by saying that I to this day struggle with my demons, which... 6 Diamondjoe's Blog The meaning of Christmas?
Posted by Diamondjoe on 2007-12-21 18:18:47.

I was recently asked to share what Christmas means to me. I must admit, that it's not something I really thought too much about. I found out there was no such thing as Santa Claus at a very early age. (talk about a serious buzzkill). Since then, the holidays have almost always been quiet and peaceful, but never really meaningful. I suppose there's a deep seeded desire to find a personnal meaning, being as I actually made more of an effort to pay attention to the homilies during the advent season.... One comment

7 Diamondjoe's Blog Emotions 101
Posted by Diamondjoe on 2007-12-07 21:09:46.

I was interested in a girl on another site, who was also interested in me. All was fine until we decided it was time to start "chatting". I can't explain how it happened, but as I was trying to set up the chat, it for whatever reason, decided to prevent me from seeing both what I and the girl were writing. Unfortunately, I later found out, that she was able to see what I was writing, and she thought I was playing a cruel joke on her. By the time I fixed the problem and discovered what had happened,... 8 Diamondjoe's Blog When all else fails... start at the beginning.
Posted by Diamondjoe on 2007-12-01 21:59:49.

Thank you for all the comments that were received in regards to my previous blogs (OK, so they were all by the same person). Regardless, I was asked to "clarify" the correlation between intimacy and self esteem. From a biblical sense, it seems to me that God originally intended us to to not only be free of sin, but also to be intimate. However because of Adam and Eve's little "error in judgment", both of those visions were short lived. Starting with Gen 2:25 "Adam and Eve were both naked, yet... One comment

9 Diamondjoe's Blog "Heaven, hell, ...... and back again?" a relationship survival guide.
Posted by Diamondjoe on 2007-11-29 18:09:34.

I occasionally log onto other secular dating sites, and it can sometimes be quite distressing. Especially those that allow people to seek and give advice. There are some people who should never be allowed to type, or use a pen, who get themselves into relationships, that are so volatile. The saddest part, is that they don't have a clue as to the type of skills needed to succeed in a healthy relationship, nor are they aware, that the "baggage" they bring into a relationship never goes away, especially... 2 comments

10 Diamondjoe's Blog Perhaps God was the inspiration behind "Lo Jack".
Posted by Diamondjoe on 2007-11-28 17:28:29.

I'm sure most of you who attend services (This is a Christian Website right? Good, for a minute I thought I was in the wrong place). And I will also go under the assumption that many of you have heard a sermon or two about how much God loves us. But does anyone have any "proof" as to why he loves us so much. I would hesitate to say that I have "hard evidence", but I think I have at least part of the answer, and it's actually quite simple really: He shows his love for us by creating us as individuals....
